Understanding Inventory Reporting

Inventory Pro’s reporting system offers multiple perspectives on your stock data to support different business needs:

Stock Status Reports answer “What do I have right now?” with current quantities, locations, and availability across all warehouses.

Valuation Reports answer “What is my inventory worth?” using various costing methods (FIFO, average cost, last cost) for financial reporting and tax compliance.

Movement Reports answer “How fast is inventory moving?” by analyzing usage patterns, turnover rates, and velocity to optimize purchasing and identify slow-moving stock.

Historical Reports answer “What did I have on a specific date?” providing point-in-time snapshots for audits, reconciliation, and trend analysis.

Profitability Reports answer “Which items generate the best margins?” by comparing costs to selling prices across different time periods.

Inventory Count Report (Report 50)

Purpose: Tracks the complete cost lifecycle of inventory from acquisition through sale, calculating true profit or loss by incorporating all costs including shipping, tariffs, taxes, and fees.

Understanding Landed Cost Calculation:

Purchase side costs (Adjusted Cost):

Adjusted Cost = (Unit Price × Units) + Sales Tax + Shipping + Tariffs + Other Charges - Discounts

Sales side costs:

Sales Cost = SO Discounts + SO Shipping + SO Other Charges

Final profit/loss:

Total Cost = Adjusted Cost + Sales Cost
Profit/Loss = Sales Price - Total Cost
